What is Foot Fungus?

🌱 What Is Foot Fungus?
Foot fungus is a common skin infection caused by fungi (tiny organisms that thrive in warm, moist environments). The most common type is athlete’s foot (tinea pedis).
🦶 How Does It Start?
Fungus can develop when feet are:
• Frequently sweaty or damp
• Enclosed in tight, non-breathable shoes
• Exposed to contaminated surfaces like public showers or pool areas
⚠️ Symptoms You Might Notice:
• Itchy, burning skin (especially between toes)
• Cracked or peeling skin
• Redness or rash
• In severe cases: thickened, discolored toenails (nail fungus)
🧼 Prevention Tips:
• Keep feet clean and dry
• Wear breathable shoes and socks
• Change socks daily
• Avoid walking barefoot in public areas
• Use antifungal sprays or powders if prone to infection.

If you notice any signs of fungus, it’s important to treat it early and avoid covering it with polish until it’s healed.
